The BGM PRO ignition set consisting of high quality components for a quick conversion of the Vespa to a maintenance-free, powerful and reliable ignition / light unit.

This set is for the old Vespa PX series from 1977-1983 in the version with battery (German market).

alternator and voltage regulator
The BGM PRO generator has a modified coil wiring and generates a high voltage even at low speeds. The result is a bright and stable light already at no load.

Ignition
The BGM Pro ignition uses the million times proven CDI technology, which Piaggio uses since the 1980s. The ignition pulse is triggered without contact by a so-called "pick-up" signal. The high ignition current, even at low engine speeds, ensures perfect starting under all conditions. The contactless ignition triggering is stable up to a five-digit speed range.

Polar wheel
Due to their weight, the pole wheels are matched to the respective application:
The Smallframe models are perfectly matched to the zippy characteristics of small engines with their 1600 grams.
The Largeframes offer a wonderful blend of high smoothness and very good acceleration capability with 2300 grams.
They are finely balanced, offer a fantastic concentricity as well as a very precise ignition timing and a very good magneto.
Thanks to the smaller circumference and the optimized wing surfaces, the engine hangs very well on the gas and has better acceleration and a little more power.


Conversion
The Vespa PX models between 1977-1983 were equipped with a battery and voltage regulator for the German market. Compared to the later Lusso models, they had their own type of voltage regulator, recognizable by the double designation A/A on the regulator terminals. Here, the ignition base plate has its own DC charging circuit for the battery. The original voltage regulator can therefore be retained during the conversion or, if it is missing or defective, replaced by a new regulator of the same type.

FAZIT
