The life of a spark plug is determined by the fuel type, engine condition, operating times and engine temperature. For 4-stroke engines from 250cc, the plugs should be cleaned or replaced after 6000km. With smaller displacements, especially with 2-strokes, approx. every 2500km. Oil carbon deposits lead already after this mileage to starting difficulties and power loss caused by the spark plug. Increased short-distance operation and poor engine oil quality can shorten the intervals.
